Dragon Age II

So today i just learned that a Dragon Age II is in the works. Personally i dont know how i feel about this. I thought Dragon Age: Origins was... alright. It had a cool adventure but all the dungeons seemed to get redundant and annoying after awhile. I know with all of my characters i put the mage tower off till the very end, I hated it. Also Origins was not very good as far as customization. Sure there were different sets of armor you could put onto your character but as far as weapons go they all looked the same to me. Hopefully Dragon Age II will fix most of these problems and make a more fun and interesting game. Not to say Origins was bad, but i definitely left some room for improvement. Hopefully the developers will make improvements and make Dragon Age II as cool as it looks.

Fable III is Good

Ok so I picked up Fable III on its release date (October 26) and let me say that it is really good. They made many improvements to make Fable III a much smoother and more enjoyable experience than its predecessor, Fable II. Fable III offers new systems that make managing the clothing you aquire through out the game, the weapons and other items more managable. No longer do you have to pause and go through the many options in order to change your outfit or weapon. Ill let you see the new system for yourself but its pretty interesting, fun, and keeps things moving along. Your character in Fable III also has more depth to him, YES! He actually talks and you get the feeling that you better understand him and his motives and gives more personality to the game. This is a great improvement to Fable II. The world (Albion) has also been re-amped and looks pretty good. The artwork matches Fable and it looks pretty darn good. All in all Fable III is a very good game (so farm still havent complteted it fully yet.) It definitely has my recomendation.

Blehh

So part of my blogging assignment is to not only keep up a blog of our own, but for every post on our blog, we have to leave a comment on someone elses blog. While looking for other video game blogs to post on i came upon, http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2010/10/22/capcom-planned-dmc-design-controversy/#comment-223878.

Where if found out that Capcom was cutting out one of gaming's greatest badasses... I speak of none other than the sword wielding, gun twirling, red trenchcoat wearing hero who has been demon slaying for close to a decade now. After doing some more research I found that this is in fact true, and we can expect to see this "new Dante" is the next Devil May Cry game. I for one, am very dissapointed. Call me a fan boy but Dante was cool and has become an icon for one of Capcom's biggest franchises. Certainly a sad day for video games. In other news Fallout: New Vegas was released, I've heard some mixed reviews. Some says the world i giant and beautiful but i have also heard that it is riddled with bugs, glitches, and other technical bugs. Leave a comment if you have played and let me know how you think it is.

A picture of the new Dante, he doesnt even have white hair damn it.

An article about the change as well as a video can be sson at http://www.rundlc.com/news/new-dante-is-much-cooler-than-old-dante/. Based on comments i have seen most people are very unhappy with the change.  While watching the video, it seems like the are using an art style that is similar to something like Borderlands, leaving me with one question.... WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING TO THIS GREAT FRANCHISE!!!!!

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

Ok, so today while watching t.v in the dining hall, an ad for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Cataclysm came up. I gotta say....... it looks pretty sweet. Me being a WoW player (although not currently... college and World of Warcraft is not a very good mix), I got pretty excited about this. Blizzard is really re-amping the world and its environment that will most likely result in yet another prolonging of World of Warcraft's life span. Blizzard is making alot of changes... lets list a few.

Lets start with the most obvious... the complete makeover of the world we WoWers have been questing, griding, and farming our ways through for close to 6 years now. Azeroth is supposed to be a constantly changing and evolving world within the fictional universe that is WoW, and yet for 6 years we havent seen much change within Azeroth, aside from the addition of Northrend. It is a much needed change that will provide a breath of fresh air to those of you who have been playing since day 1. In my oppinion... the change is long overdue. Another thing is the addition of the Worgen and Goblin race, with the Worgen allegiances resting within the Alliance and the Goblins within the Horde. Finally the Alliance is not the only faction with races that are vertically challenged! Blizzard is also adding thousands upon thousands of new quests to the world of Azeroth. For those of you who have been die hard fans... this will provide almost an entirely new gaming experience... one that will put websites such as thottbot.com and wowhead.com to some serious work.

All in all I think Cataclysm will be pleasantly recieved by the millions of cave trolls who shrivel away while they epic out their characters. It is a much needed change to the world that has remained static for quite some time now. Quite frankly... I was becoming rather bored with the world and its redundancy. Cataclysm will provide a completely new gaming experience to a game that has been the definition of MMORPGS for over half a decade.

The Beginning of the Blog

Yesterday on October 21, 2010, my Computer Science professor, Professor Shaffstall, assigned us a blogging project with which we must create and maintain a blog. After brainstorming ideas for what to even write within my blog I decided to go with something I'm good at... video games.

I'm going to write my first post about the upcoming game Fable 3, which I am very excited about and already have made a reservation at the local Gamestop. Fable 2 was a very good game that recieved many great reviews. However, in my thoughts it was not without it's faults. Fable 2 had a serious lacking in character depth. This was probably done on purpose by Peter Molyneux and the rest of the Lionhead Studios team to create the sense that you are actually your character... if you get what I mean. I for one wanted to get to know more about my character but was unable to do so because the only way you communicate with the world is through different emotions you can perform. Another thing I would like to pick at about Fable 2  is that you couldnt customize you character. Sure you can choose which clothing you character wears, as well as many other options such as clothing color, hair style, hair color, etc. But I like to customize how my charcacter actually looks.

All in all  Fable 2  was a pretty good gaming experience that offers many hours of enjoyment. I would like to see some things fixed in Fable 3 and I am very excited for its October 26, 2010 release.
